When a complex shape is to be measured there is no easier way to capture the details than 3D scanning. The MetraScan from Creaform provides a highly accurate way to capture the data.
Design
The Creaform scanner comes with powerful software to convert the scan data into .STL files or Surface bodies which are directly exported to Solid Works or Inventor. The Surface bodies can be processed to create 3D Models which can easily be manipulated.
Drafting
Both Solid Works and Auto CAD are powerful 3D and 2D Drafting packages for the Creation of detail drawings for the manufacture of parts.
